Status update on the kickstarter? It's been a while!

A

The kickstarter campaign and the Earthbound USA documentary are not things that I’m personally involved with, but we’re working on getting the videos ready and the tiers finalized. There’s a lot of background work that goes into a kickstarter, and it can take especially long when you have to work on it around other things. I apologize for the wait, but I can promise that we’re moving forward. I hope to be able to announce something soon!

are you accepting any more entries at all for art? i totally missed your blog <:O

A

Hey there! We’re not officially accepting entries at this point, but the book is waiting on the Earthbound USA Kickstarter for printing, and it may be awhile, so feel free to send me your entry to pkzine@fangamer and I’ll take a look! If you do send something please make sure that it follows all the guidelines posted on the about page, and include your contact information/website/name that you would like to be credited as.

Earthbound, USA

It’s been pretty hard to keep quiet about this!

In case you were wondering about the big project that is holding up the PK Zine: http://earthboundusa.com

We think you’ll all agree that it’s worth the wait! And the best part is, that’s the not the only thing we’re working on…

Sorry for this dumb question, but the written pieces revisions are all done, or there's still some to be seen?

A

It’s not a dumb question at all! We have the three pieces that I mentioned picked out for sure, but we’re still deciding on a few more and we may ask some authors to use sections of their entries rather than the full piece.

Hope that answers your question!

THE PK-ZINE IS NOT DEAD!

…Just dormant. Waiting. Watching.

Okay, alright, mostly just waiting. As some of you know, Fangamer is planning a large project through Kickstarter, which the PK Zine will be part of. So, while all the submissions are in, the actual printing keeps getting pushed back to coincide with the large scale project (details coming to Fangamer’s social media soon!).

For the written submissions:

Our newly employed resident writer, Dan, has reviewed these and has given his thumbs up to the following entries:

  • Fulfillment (Nonakani)
  • Lucas (itsybitsyjoltik)
  • Moonside (Daxxglax)

We’re going to be contacting some of the other authors as well to work with them on their stories, so that we can include more of your work!

If anyone has any questions about this, please send them to pkzine@fangamer.com, since tumblr’s messaging system is quite unreliable. I probably can’t answer any questions about the timeline for printing, since it depends on a lot of outside factors, but I’ll do my best.

Any word on the judging for the written entries? I hate asking, but it's been a really long time since we've heard anything, and if there are plans for the zine to be ready to print by May, that's kind of worrisome.

A

Written submissions have been reviewed! Several have been chosen, and a few more will be chosen with edits, if the authors agree. Nothing has gone out about this, so not receiving notice does not mean that your submission wasn’t chosen. I will be posting something with more info later today. Apologies for the delay!

When will the kickstarter happen?

A

It takes a long time to set up a Kickstarter campaign, and we don’t want to launch it until we’re ready. The more we can show of what we’re working on (and we’re working on a lot of really cool stuff for this!) the more successful we can make the campaign. Realistically, we probably won’t be able to launch until May at the earliest.

The upside to this is that when we are ready to launch, the PK Zine itself will be all ready for print!

Still waiting…!

Thank you so much to all the artists that recently got back to me with their print size submissions. We’re still waiting on some of you, though!

If your name is on this list, your submission was chosen for the Psychokinetic Zine, and we need a print size version (6x9, 300 DPI).

  • Super-Mario-RPG (the Ultimate Chimera piece)
  • Layeyes (the Prince Poo submission)
  • nomorepros
  • micheal-lambert
  • mobybat
  • sundown light

Thanks!

Hey Guys!

HEY GUYS!

We’re still waiting on the written entries, and we don’t have a specific date for printing (viewers of the Earthbound Bash might remember the Kickstarter that we announced, which this book will be a part of, and so the date depends on that).

HOWEVER…

We’re also still waiting on print-ready versions of MANY entries. I sent out messages to all of the artists who submitted chosen entries, but have only gotten responses from a handful (this is what we get for using tumblr, where messages disappear and everyone changes their username monthly…).

If your name is on this list below, please send me a print-ready version of your entry as soon as possible, along with your REAL NAME/whatever you would like to be credited as/any links you would like associated with your work. Send this to pkzine@fangamer.com

As a reminder, this means that your image must measure 6x9 (with bleed if possible/relevant), and 300 DPI.

And now…THE LIST:

  • Kurkoboltsi
  • Chris Fillhart / C-Fillhart
  • Super-Mario-RPG (the Ultimate Chimera piece)
  • Layeyes (the Prince Poo submission)
  • nomorepros
  • micheal-lambert
  • sienanigans
  • mobybat
  • sundownlight
  • vinnamon-buns
  • skullandspears
  • walterpizza
  • maikonkon
  • peachy-prince
  • catconsumer

If you know any of these artists, and they haven’t received this message, please pass it on!

Thanks!

I think you really need to put a list of the selected authors when you finish reviewing the writing entries.

A

We definitely will!
